| Ain't paralysed
yet
They say that when you look
at art
You feel it in your heart
A gnawing in your chest
A permanent unrest
A feeling some detest
If ignorance is truly bliss
Then grapple, friends, with
this:
An artless world would gleam
With perfect self-esteem
And spirit for the team
Though temptation may be
strong
To sort the right out from
the wrong
To close your mind and just
belong
Temptation can be met
You ain't paralysed just
yet
An artless world would be
quite free
Of all ambiguity
How nice to live without
A glimmer of self-doubt
Or thoughts to think about
I'd like to live there for
a while
And smile a constant smile
It's easy to revile
The crass and low of brow
But we envy them, somehow
Now you hear the siren call
Comfort has you in its thrall
See the painting on the
wall
Be glad that you're upset
You ain't paralysed just
yet |
